Children — Ages 8 to 12

The full curriculum at a quicker pace, introduced in a small-group setting.

All programs

Eight to twelve year olds move faster and retain more, so this program introduces the complete beginner curriculum in a small-group format before students join the main class.

New students stretch with the group, then work to the side on beginner material with an instructor. That head start means nobody spends their first months lost at the back of a line.

Dojang etiquette is taught from day one: how to enter and leave the training hall, how to address instructors and senior students, how to join a class already in progress, and how to line up. Discipline and respect are part of the syllabus, not an afterthought.

Promotion through the belt system covers opening exercises, one-step sparring, self-defense, forms (hyung), and sparring drills. Sparring is introduced one to two months in, once the basics hold up under pressure, and always under supervision.
