Find the right class

Seven ways to train with us, grouped by age and goal. Every program follows the same Tang Soo Do curriculum — the pace and the teaching are what change.

Students in the 8 to 12 program

4–7 years

Children — Ages 4 to 7

Our youngest students learn the fundamentals of Tang Soo Do in a class designed entirely around how four to seven year olds learn — short drills, clear goals and plenty of encouragement.

  • Two groups: beginner, then intermediate/advanced
  • Motor skills, balance and coordination focus
  • No sparring until orange belt (around nine months)
  • Games-based conditioning at the end of every class

8–12 years

Children — Ages 8 to 12

Eight to twelve year olds move faster and retain more, so this program introduces the complete beginner curriculum in a small-group format before students join the main class.

  • Beginner/intermediate and advanced groups
  • One-on-one or small-group start for new students
  • Etiquette and discipline taught from the first class
  • Sparring introduced after 1–2 months, always supervised
Teen karate class practising techniques

13–17 years

Teens — Ages 13 to 17

Teenagers get a training environment that takes them seriously. The curriculum is the full art — forms, sparring, one-steps, self-defense and weapons — taught at a pace that rewards consistency.

  • Full curriculum: forms, sparring, one-steps, weapons
  • Honest, earned rank — no inflated belts
  • Fitness habits that outlast the teenage years
  • Start at any time, no prior experience needed
Adult students training in the Royersford gym

18+ years

Adults — Ages 18 and Up

Adults learn exactly the same curriculum as the younger students — tailored to the body you actually have, not the one you had at twenty.

  • Same curriculum, scaled to your ability
  • Training adapted around injuries and limitations
  • Stress relief, flexibility and real conditioning
  • Complimentary trial class at your convenience
